Belize will be represented by Michael Singh, Advisor to the Office of the Prime Minister, in the Ministerial Meeting of Electronic Government of Latin America and the Caribbean and the Annual Meeting of Red Gealc. Carol’s predominant modes of operation are “give a hand” and “expand and enhance”. As an active member in church community and a dedicated civil servant for over 20 years, she has been able to indulge both modes changing the lives of individuals and her country.
Michael Singh currently serves as a special advisor to the Office of the Prime Minister on government performance and efficiency. He also has special responsibility as the Chief Technology Officer with direct responsibility for the implementation of the government’s eGovernance Policy and Strategy.
Mr. Singh served previously as CEO with responsibility for Trade and Investment development for the Government of Belize. As part of this responsibility, he also served as the Chairman of the Belize Trade and Investment Services (BELTRAIDE) and also served on various other boards and authorities on behalf of the Government of Belize, including as Chairman of the Gaming and Lotteries Commission, Lead Trade Negotiator, and as a Director of the Central Bank of Belize. Michael is also a co-Chair of the Economic Development Council commissioned by the Prime Minister of in 2011, which is a permanent dialogue established to promote Public
rivate cooperation in Belize.
Previous to this, he served as the CEO of Tourism, Aviation and Culture, and has served in various capacities on regional tourism and aviation institutions, including SICA, SITCA, CTO and COCESNA. In 2010, he served as a judge for the global Tourism for Tomorrow Awards, under the auspices of the World Tourism Council.
Mr. Singh is an avid nature lover and participates in a number of outdoor sports including mountain biking, hiking, boating, and any kind of paddling sports.
